This case highlights an interesting and acute presentation of a vesiculobullous disorder to secondary care and the patients following management. Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid is a rare condition but its presentation can be severe and concerning for both the patient and clinician. Showing the presentation of active Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid as florid desquamative gingivitis and extensive mucosal erosions due to burst bullae. Hypothesising the potential of a cardiac event or clopidogrel therapy as the precipitating stressor behind the activation of the immune disorder. Exhibiting the efficacy of direct immunofluorescence against inconclusive and contradictory results from antibody screening and indirect immunofluorescence testing. As well as, patient response to both immediate and long-term pharmacological treatment with systemic corticosteroid and mycophenolate therapy. This case aims to call attention to the clinical features of this rare immune condition and act as an update on the effectiveness of diagnostic tools. Including review of appropriate pharmacological options for management, potential unwanted adverse effects such as corticosteroid bruising and ultimately successful treatment and reduction of disease activity.
